today proclaimed its inaugural event a success after wrapping
the first World Happiness Summit, which included a four-day,
four track global event that ran from March
16 – March 19, 2017. "We'd
projected audience capacity for the experiential track to be about
400 people. Instead, an average of 1250 daily guests walked
through the doors of the Ice Palace Film Studios space where WOHASU
guests gathered to experience all the elements of building a
personal practice of happiness; 2018 will be even more amazing, "
said Karen Guggenheim, COO of the
WOHASU, which is the organizing body behind the Summit.
Today's announcement caps four straight days of high level
academic, technology, government and experiential meetings,
dialogues and interactive opportunities. There were over 50
of the leading experts in the science of happiness and well being
as well as entrepreneurs and government officials. Guests traveled
from over 40 countries, including Bhutan, the United
Arab Emirates, Surinam,
Israel, Nicaragua, Colombia, United
Kingdom, Liberia, Suriname,
South Korea; and at least 40 US
States. Participants included teachers, students, parents, coaches,
civic leaders, yoga and meditation instructors, personal
development experts and even a super model.
Other participants included NGO's, local non-profits and
corporate citizens from lululemon, Plasticity, SmartDubai,
HeartMath, Google, eMerge Americas, LiveHappy, TONIC and Happier
TV, among others.
The summit celebrated its closing on March 19th at the Make Miami Happy
Day, officially proclaimed by Miami Mayor Tomas
Regalado on Thursday.
